Unlike the Islay whiskeys that we generally know with their sooty/peat whiskeys, Bruichladdich did not use peat in the production of this expression (Unpeated). For this reason, we do not see sooty, smoked or peat notes in the resulting whiskey.
Bruichladdich The Laddie Eight (Scottish Single Malt, 50% abv)
Nose: Perfume scents, which I can describe as quite fresh and fresh, are immediately evident. Sweet notes of vanilla, apple, pear, peach and honey are accompanied by a light sea breeze and strawy scents. Balanced and soft.
Palate: As on the nose, fruity flavors such as pear, peach and apple are evident on the palate. These are accompanied by flavors that I can call spicy and very slightly salty peanuts. Finally, vanilla and caramel are also felt.
A little strong compared to the nose, but still balanced.
Finish: Medium length, balanced finish. Peach, vanilla, oak and spice.
Comment: I would generally describe Bruichladdich The Laddie Eight as a fruity, slightly spicy and slightly salty whiskey. A whiskey with a rich profile, that is, with different layers. I can say that it makes me very satisfied, especially on the nose.
