Cardhu 14 Special Release 2021 (Single Malt Scotch, 55.5% abv)
Nose: Quite floral and sweet with fruity notes such as apple, lemon, grape and orange. Followed by malt, coconut and cookies. Soft and elegant. The 55,5% abv level surprisingly do no shows itself.
Palate: Starts with fruity aromas such as apple, pear, grape, plum and hints of red fruits. Followed by toffee, candy apple and oak. Plenty of spice comes right after the sweet character. Cinnamon, cloves and white pepper. Sweet, creamy and spicy.
Finish: Sweet aromas are also dominant in the finish. A medium-long, warm finish with apples, grapes, toffee, cinnamon and white pepper.
Comment: Creamy, elegant and soft expression with strong fruity character. Especially the nose really surprised me. Although the sweet-spice balance on the palate disappears later on, it is quite enjoyable with its sweet and creamy texture.
