The Dalmore 15 was matured for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, then split into three batches that were aged an additional three years in different types of sherry casks (Amoroso, Apostoles, Matusalem Oloroso). Finally, they were blended together and bottled at 40% abv. (Price at the time of tasting £73.95)

Dalmore 15 (Single Malt Scotch, 40% abv)

Nose: Starts with raisins, caramel, vanilla and molasses. Quite sweet. Followed by leather, sweet tobacco and orange chocolate.

Palate: The sherry effect is evident on the palate. Intense sweet aromas such as raisins, dried figs, oranges, brown sugar, vanilla, milk chocolate and caramel. Followed by cinnamon, ginger, almond, black pepper and woody flavors. Quite creamy, full and balanced.

Finish: A medium length finish with oak, raisin, orange, vanilla and cinnamon.

Comment: Dalmore 15 offers everything we expect from a Dalmore with its intense sherry character. The aromatic expression stands out especially with its creamy and balanced character on the palate.
