Glendronach Revival 15, is a sherry bomb that the distillery stopped producing in 2015 due to the lack of sufficient barrel stock and started producing it again 3 years later.
from the Andalusia region of Spain oloroso and Pedro Ximenez şeri fıçılarda 15 yıl olgunlaştırılan Glendronach Revival, %46 alkol seviyesi ile şişeleniyor.
Let me state that only Oloroso sherry casks were used in the maturation of the old Revival, which was discontinued in 2015, and therefore there are differences in character between the two Revivals.
Glendronach Revival 15 (Scottish Single Malt, 46% abv)
Nose: I might start my notes by saying sherry bomb. The aromas coming from the barrels are very pronounced. Sherry, grape, malt, bitters, honey, dense oak and caramel. Soft and full.
I can summarize the character on the nose as a rum tiramisu…
Palate: As on the nose, the sherry character is evident on the palate. Sherry is accompanied by intense spicy and peppery flavors. Cinnamon is particularly prominent. Additionally grapes, marzipan, vanilla and oak. It's quite a wine whiskey. It has a strong, aromatic and creamy structure.
Finish: Long lasting, slightly dry and coaly. Sherry is evident throughout the interior as well as in the finish.
Comment: Glendronach Revival 15 is an expression that will satisfy those who love the sherry character in whiskey (like me!). Wine is very aromatic and full-bodied with its sweet-spicy and oaky character.
