Glenfiddich 18 Small Batch Reserve is created by carefully selecting 150 barrels from 18 years of whiskey stock and then maturing them for a certain period of time.
The barrels selected by the “Malt Master” are numbered one by one and carefully controlled throughout the marriage. Sherry and bourbon barrels are used in the maturation of the expression, as in standard 18-year-olds.
Glenfiddich 18 Small Batch Reserve (İskoç Single Malt, %40 abv)
Nose: A very soft and delicate nose. Intense oak and light cinnamon in addition to fruity notes of apple, pear and lemon. We feel the effects of maturation in Oloroso sherry barrels with light grape and molasses notes. A fruity, full-bodied and delicious nose.
Palate: Fruity aromas and spices are in the foreground. Cinnamon and ginger in addition to apples and dried fruits. Delicious, creamy and balanced.
Finish: Medium length, spicy and slightly fruity.
My Comments: Glenfiddich 18 offers a very rich and balanced drink. Although my hand is always on the go at the Glenfiddich vertical tastings I do. Solera 15I can say that Glenfiddich 18 is one of the most successful expressions of the brand.
