Jack Daniel's brand's Rye (rye) weighted expression is produced by processing Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye, rye, corn and malted barley.

Like all other expressions of the brand, Tennessee Straight Rye goes into casks after going through the Charcoal Mellowing (Lincoln County Process).

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye (Tennessee Rye Whiskey, 45% abv)

Nose: At the first smell, we are faced with a whiskey that is quite sweet, close to Bourbon. Sweet and perfumed notes are accompanied by spice. Dry banana smell and grain character are evident. It gives the impression of a strong whiskey.

Palate: It is quite hot and dry. Banana flavor is evident on the palate as it is on the nose. In addition to spices, cinnamon and light black pepper.

Finish: Medium length, dry and warm finish. Finally, the sweet cinnamon flavor remains in the mouth.

Comment: Overall, I can say that I like Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye expression. The nose and finish are satisfactory. Still, I would have liked a slightly richer character aside from the grain and banana flavor on the nose. Similarly, after the dry heat felt on the palate, it would be nice to feel the spice aromas a little more distinctly.
