Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye, markanın son yıllarda çıkardığı Rye (çavdar) ağırlıklı ekspresyonlarında biri. %70 çavdar, %18 mısır ve %12 maltlanmış arpanın içeriğini sahip (Mash Bill) ekspresyon, markanın diğer tüm ekspresyonları gibi Charcoal Mellowing (Lincoln County Process) işleminden geçtikten sonra fıçılara giriyor.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye is bottled from a single barrel (Single Barrel). This means that bottles from different barrels can have different characters, albeit small ones. Each bottle also includes information about which barrel the whiskey came from.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye (Tennessee Rye Whiskey, 45% abv)

Nose: Caramel, almond, hazelnut and oak notes are my first scents. It is followed by light grape and cinnamon notes, which I can call “Christmas cake”. The grain character is evident.

Palate: Intense spice, caramel, brown sugar and very light oak. I can say that it has a very hot and spicy character on the palate compared to the nose. The sweet aromas I get in the nose become a little more pronounced with the airing of the glass.

Finish: A medium length, warm, dry finish with spices, pepper and caramel.

Comment: I had the chance to taste Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye for the first time at the London Whiskey Show 2021. Although not on my tasting list, the phrases "Rye" and "Single Barrel" aroused my curiosity. But in general I can't say that I found what I was looking for in a Rye expression. I can say that it is more spicy and hot compared to the standard Single Barrel, and has a flatter character compared to Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye.
