Nose: With the first smell, apple, tropical fruit, honey, vanilla scents are evident. Immediately afterwards, intense oak, caramel, humidor and very light soot smells from behind. Elegant and rich.
Palate: As in the nose, fruity aromas are evident. Apple, peach, orange, raisin, tropical fruit flavors are accompanied by oak, dark chocolate, sweet tobacco, honey and caramel. It is possible to feel the sooty flavors in the nose very light on the palate, but I can describe it as burnt oak. In a full build.
Finish: A medium-long finish with caramel, dark chocolate and oak.
Overall: Johnnie Walker XR 21 is an elegant, rich character whiskey that offers a balance of rich fruity notes and tastes that come from aging. I think especially those who love Johnnie Walker 18 will enjoy it very much.
