Nose: With the first smell, leather, soot, raisin chocolate and vanilla are in the foreground. Following them, I took cinnamon, oak, citrus and light medicinal scents. When the glass gets a little airy, the sweet aromas become more pronounced. Although the alcohol level of 56.8 does not tire the nose, it makes itself felt.

Palate: Orange, salty chocolate, caramel and citrus flavors are accompanied by peppery and sooty aromas. Unexpectedly soft and full on the palate. It has a creamy and mouth-watering texture.

Finish: Quite long and hot. Lots of soot, salt and cinnamon.

Overall: The 2015 expression of Lagavulin 12 Cask Strength is an extremely complex and intense expression. I especially liked its intense aromatic character on the nose and its soft texture despite its fullness on the palate.

This expression is for the first time #whiskyexcuse with the tasting club Lagavulin Vertical Tasting I had the opportunity to try it. Lagavulin Distillery Edition 1995 was the first in the scoring we made at the end of the tasting, while Lagavulin 12 Cask Strength 2015 took the 2nd place.

Extremely complex and intense. Especially after a little air in the nose, its balance and soft texture on the palate are very successful.
