Lagavulin 9 Game of Thrones House Lannister is Diageo's special release for the final season of the world-famous Game of Thrones series. Game of Thrones Single Malts one of the members of the collection.
This expression of Lagavulin, as the name suggests, represents House Lannister, one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in Westeros.
The label and box design of the expression, which is bottled with 46 alcohol degrees after aging for 9 years, contains information and motifs about both Lagavulin and House Lannister.

Lagavulin 9 Game of Thrones House Lannister (İskoç Single Malt, %46 abv)
Nose: With the first sniff, I picked up distinctly sweet scents that I didn't expect from a Lagavulin. Notes of vanilla, caramel, oak and sherry are accompanied by slightly sooty flavors. Quite soft and delicious.
Palate: A stronger and more striking palate compared to the nose. Spicy aromas are evident. It is followed by chocolate, fudge, cinnamon, light menthol and peat. The alcohol level of 46 degrees makes itself felt.
Finish: Medium length, strong and peaty finish. Finally, it leaves caramel, light salt and soot flavors on the palate.
Comment: When we compare Lagavulin 9 with other expressions of the brand, we can put it in a different place. The predominance of sweet aromas, especially in the nose, is not a feature we are accustomed to seeing in a Lagavulin. But I thoroughly enjoyed this expression.
While we can't say it as balanced as Lagavulin 16 or as aromatic as Distillers Editions, Lagavulin 9 is a spicy, peaty and strong whiskey with predominantly sweet flavors in general.
