Macallan Double Cask 12 is a full and rich expression, aged for 12 years in American and European sherry casks. I first tasted this whiskey in October 2016. At the Stockholm Beer and Whiskey festival I had the opportunity to taste this delicious whiskey.

Macallan Double Cask 12 (Scottish Single Malt, 40% abv)

Nose: The scents of orange, red apple, grape and vanilla are accompanied by light oak and vanilla. The sherry effect is evident. It gives a creamy impression.

Palate: Sweet aromas such as raisins, oranges, citrus and caramel are accompanied by plenty of oak and ginger. A filling and mouth-watering texture.

Finish: A warm, sweet, medium-length finish with ginger, oak and sherry.

Comment: Double Cask 12 offers a wonderful balance of spices from European barrels and vanilla flavors from American barrels. A rich expression in which the sherry effect is very pronounced.
