Mackmyra Intelligens AI-01 is an expression created by Swedish distillery Mackmyra using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Yes, you read it right, artificial intelligence…
Mackmyra is the tech giant for this project Microsoft and a firm specializing in AI fourkind collaborated with. Within the scope of the project, data such as whiskey production (malting, fermentation, distillation and all other stages…), Mackmyra's history, internal processes, old expressions, sales figures, and customer preferences were entered into a cloud platform created by Microsoft.
Artificial intelligence algorithms analyzed this data entered into the Cloud platform and revealed 70 million different whiskey formulas, and among these formulas, consumers chose the formula that they would like the most.
The name of the first formula that emerged within the scope of the project Mackmyra Intelligens AI-01. The expression, produced in 5000 bottles, is created from a blend of whiskeys from 30, 100 and 200 liter old Bourbon, Swedish and American oak barrels.
I joined in 2019 London Whiskey ShowExpression, which I had the opportunity to taste in .

Palate: A very fruity palate with distinct aromas of apple, grape, peach, dried fig and citrus. Unlike the nose, I would say a little more spicy. Cinnamon and oak. Easy to drink and balanced.
Finish: Fruity and slightly dry, with a short to medium length finish.
My Comments: I can say that it is a balanced, fruity and soft whiskey in general for this expression, which arouses great interest with its story and details. The negative sides are that it offers a straight character on the nose and short finish.
It's like the machines still need the human touch to produce whiskey... No need to worry yet...
