Penderyn Madeira Single Malt (Galler Single Malt, %46 abv)

Nose: A rather sweet nose, similar to Bourbon, with vanilla, honey and brown sugar. After sweet aromas, dry fruit, white chocolate, ginger and oak notes become evident. In a youthful image.

Palate: The spicy and warm character is immediately evident. Ginger, cinnamon and black pepper are accompanied by a berry and bitter sweetness. After sweet-spicy aromas, I got intense oaky and slightly bitter flavors.

Finish: Medium length, spicy and warm finish. Oak notes are prominent.

OverallIn general, Penderyn Madeira Single Malt is an expression with a young and sharp character. While it has a character close to Bourbon on the nose, it turns into a wild malt on the palate.

When I added a few drops of water, I saw that the scorching and unbalanced character on the palate decreased. In this way, sweet aromas became evident. But overall the expression took on a flatter image.
