Tomintoul 10 (Scottish Single Malt, 40% abv)
Nose: Fruity and sweet scents are in the foreground. It's almost like a fruit plate or candy... Tropical fruits, vanilla, honey and fudge are the first notes I get. Following them are light oak and malt notes.
Palate: It is quite sweet on the palate as well as on the nose. Fruity flavors such as peach and orange are accompanied by caramel, vanilla and sugar. There are also flavors that I can call malt and straw. Very easy to drink.
Finish: Short and sweet. Fruity, caramel and very light cinnamon.
Comment: Tomintoul 10 is a very easy-drinking malt dominated by sweet flavors. I might even say it's a bit "too easy to drink"... I liked the fruity and malty flavors that were not too rich, but were easy on the nose. On the palate, it has a very soft and flat character. The downside of this expression is that it has a short ending.
