Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Bourbon, 43.2% abv)
Nose: Vanilla, honey, caramel, cinnamon and bitter notes are accompanied by leather, toast and burnt oak. It looks full and creamy.
Palate: Caramel, honey, cinnamon, oak flavors are dominant on the palate as well as the nose. But on the palate, these aromas are accompanied by brown sugar, sweet tobacco, espresso and slightly burnt flavors. Strong and balanced.
Finish: A medium to long finish with cinnamon, oak and grain flavors.
Overall: Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a whiskey that deserves the brand's claim to be a "Premium Bourbon". The balance of strong sweet-spicy aromas with the oak character is very successful. I especially enjoyed the full character of the nose and the rich aromas on the palate.
