Talisker 11 Year Old Special Release 2022, Diageo’nun her yıl çıkardığı Special Release serisinin 11 yıllık Talisker şişelemesi. Serinin 2021 şişelemesinin aksine bu yılki şişeleme için “lightly peated stocks” yani markanın hafif turbalı stoklarından bir ekspresyon ortaya çıkarılmış. Bourbon fıçılarda 11 yıl olgunlaştırılan Talisker 11 Year Old Special Release 2022, 55.1% alkol derecesiyle şişelenmiş.

Burun: İlk koklamayla Talisker’dan beklediğimiz isli ve tuzlu nüanslar belirgin, fakat bu nüanslar oldukça hafif ve dengeli. İs ve turba karakterini elma, limon kabuğu, anason, karabiber ve meşe takip ediyor. Kadehin havalanmasıyla daha dolgun bir his uyandırıyor. 1-2 damla su viskinin karakterini anlamak adına faydalı oluyor.

Damak: Burunda aldığım meyvemsi tatlar damakta da belirgin. Elma, limon, karamel, kahve, tarçın ve biber tatlarını yanık odun ve tuz takip ediyor. 55.1%’lik alkol derecesi kendini gösteriyor, 1-2 damla su burada da faydalı olabilir. Dengeli is ve tatlı nüansların olduğu bir damak.

Bitiş: Limon, tuz, is ve biber ile çok uzun bir bitiş.

Talisker 11 Year Old Special Release 2022, Special Release serisinin 2022 şişeleri arasında benim için öne çıkan bir ekspresyon oldu. “Hafif isli” olarak lanse edilse de bence klasik Talisker 10’a karakter olarak oldukça yakın. 55.1% alkol derecesi doğal olarak burunda bitişe kendini fazlasıyla hissettiriyor. Birkaç damla suyla oldukça keyifli bulduğum bir Talisker oldu.

Talisker 11 Year Old Special Release 2022 is the 11-year Talisker bottling of Diageo’s annual Special Release series. Unlike the 2021 bottling of the series, this expression made made by “lightly peated stocks” from the distilleries warehouse. Matured for 11 years in Bourbon barrels, Talisker 11 Year Old Special Release 2022 is bottled at cask strength with 55.1% abv.

Nose: At first smell, smoky and salty nuances we expect from Talisker are evident, but these nuances are quite light and balanced. The smoke and peat character is followed by apple, lemon peel, anise, black pepper and oak. 1-2 drops of water is useful to reveal the true character.

Palate: The fruity flavors I get on the nose are also evident on the palate. Flavors of apple, lemon, caramel, coffee, cinnamon and pepper are followed by burnt wood and salt. Well, 55.1% abv level speaks for itself, a few drops of water can be useful here too. A palate with balanced smoke and sweet nuances.

Finish: A very long finish with lemon, salt, smoke and pepper.

Talisker 11 Year Old Special Release 2022 was a standout expression for me among the 2022 bottles of the Special Release series. Even though it is introduced as “lightly peated”, I think it is quite close to the classic Talisker 10 in terms of character. The 55.1% abv level naturally makes itself felt on the nose until the finish. With a few drops of water, it became a Talisker that I found quite enjoyable.
