İngiliz damıtımevi Cotswolds’un standart şişelemesi yeni üyesi Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky, ilk dolum Bourbon ve STR (shaved, toasted, re-charred) adı verilen onarılmış eski şarap fıçılarında olgunlaştırıldıktan sonra %46 alkol derecesiyle renklendirici eklenmeden ve soğuk filtrasyondan (non-chill filtered) geçirilmeden şişeleniyor. Diğer tüm ekspresyonlarında olduğu gibi Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky için kullanılan arpaların da damıtımevinin bulunduğu Cotswolds kasabasında yetiştirildiğini ve yerde maltlama (floor malting) maltlandığını belirtelim.

Burun: İlk koklamayla birlikte belirgin üzüm, şeftali, mango, kırmızı elma ve portakal nüansları. Bu nüansları kahvaltılık gevrek, bal ve zarif meşe kokuları takip ediyor. Meyvemsi, ferah ve dengeli.

Damak: Narenciye, üzüm, şeftali, kayısı, vanilya ve tarçın tatlarını tarçın, meşe ve hafif karabiber takip ediyor. Oldukça yumuşak içimli ve kremamsı bir dokuda.

Bitiş: Meşe, vanilya, tatlı baharat ve narenciye ile orta uzunlukta bir bitiş.

The Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky is matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon barrels and STR (shaved, toasted, re-charred) red wine casks, then bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added coloring. As with all other Cotswolds expressions, the barley used for this whisky is locally grown in the Cotswolds region and traditionally floor-malted—a detail that reflects the distillery’s commitment to craft and locality.

Nose: From the very first sniff, prominent notes of grape, peach, red apple, and orange emerge. These fruity nuances are followed by breakfast cereal, honey, and a touch of elegant oak. Overall, it’s fruity and well-balanced.

Palate: Citrus, grape, peach, apricot, vanilla, and cinnamon lead the way, followed by more cinnamon, black pepper and a gentle oak. The texture is creamy and the mouthfeel is remarkably smooth.

Finish: A medium-length finish with oak, sweet spice, and citrus.

Overall Impression: Cotswolds holds a special place for me as it was the very first English whisky I ever tasted. Since my initial encounter with the brand back in 2019, I can say they’ve made tremendous progress. The distillery’s flagship expression, Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky, is a delightful dram with its rich, balanced fruit-forward character and easy-drinking, creamy texture.
